  • Integrating a Digital Patient Experience into Outpatient Services - Mary Sirois with Michael Mistretta
    • Monday, June 26th - 11:00am-11:50am | Governors B - MIT

Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) has been implementing organization-wide improvements and preparing an elevated outpatient experience. Goals are to provide patients with a concierge patient navigation experience leveraging technology and the ability to incorporate real-time appointment scheduling upon patient checkout. In this session, VHC's CIO will share lessons learned from both an IT and operational perspective in ensuring project success and the achievement of an optimal patient experience.

      Learning Objectives:

      • Discuss key processes for creating an innovative digital experience.
      • Describe operational change management steps for a large scale patient experience project.
      • Identify key benefit realization metrics, short and long term, intended to measure the success and value of the program.

  • Transform Financial Outcomes with Physician Leadership - Everett Hayes
    • Tuesday, June 27th - 2:00pm-2:50pm | Loveless Stage - TBLL

Rewiring the Industry Approach to Clinical Denials: The wiring of clinical denials in the revenue cycle is complex.  Many rely on clinical partners for resolution, typically routing denials back to departments and Care Management/UM. These departments often need more revenue cycle and payer contract acumen. Rewiring how we think about clinical denials requires integration of clinical and business industry experience, providing proper insight into the challenge. This requires the creation of clinical capability within revenue cycle.

Transform Financial Outcomes with Physician Leaders: A case study on an innovative and successful revenue cycle/physician partnership that goes well beyond the traditional physician advisor role. This session will highlight the financial improvements and operational changes stemming from the Physician Dyad Partnership at Monument Health.

      Learning Objectives:
    • Describe building and running clinical denial teams, setting and measuring performance benchmarks, and how this contributes to optimized outcomes.
    • Summarize a framework, strategy, and road map to create a Revenue Cycle Physician Leader role.
    • List key metrics to monitor performance and identify new opportunities, that will drive continuous innovation and improvement.
