Giving back with Nordic’s BELIEVE employee resource group

At Nordic, employee resource groups (ERGs) are an integral component of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). In addition to helping team members foster a culture of belonging and connectedness across the globe, Nordic ERGs also create opportunities to give back to the communities in which we live and work.
Nordic’s Black Employees Leading in Inclusion, Excellence, Vision, and Education (BELIEVE) ERG is dedicated to making Nordic a preeminent place for Black employees to grow their careers. The members of BELIEVE are focused on educating colleagues, empowering individuals, and giving back to non-profits that are on a mission to do the same. Over the past several years, the group has sponsored employee events geared toward educating attendees on the life and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Civil Rights Movement, Black History Month, Juneteenth, implicit bias, ally training, and more.
Through our ERGs, Nordic partners with nonprofit organizations to foster diversity and inclusion within our company, to live out our maxims, and make an impact in healthcare, technology, and beyond.
“The BELIEVE ERG believes in contributing to the success of our communities and those actively on the frontline promoting advancement and eliminating disparities,” said Melanie Cook, Nordic’s BELIEVE ERG Co-Chair. “We appreciate the opportunity to give back to organizations, like Black Girls Code, the Arkansas Birthing Project, and the MLK Coalition, that are fostering empowerment and building on equality each day."

With Nordic’s support, we’re able to aid these organizations dedicated to the Black community while remaining aligned with our mission.

  • Black Girls Code builds on our commitment to connect people, data, and technology to bring healthcare forward, while laying a foundation for talent from underrepresented communities.
  • Arkansas Birthing Project helps our firm make an impact on racial inequities in healthcare and offers insights into social determinants of health.
  • MLK Coalition reinforces our maxim, “Be You,” as we strive to create an environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or other attributes.

Connecting people for a healthier world

Nordic’s ERGs are employee-led, voluntary groups that align with Nordic’s mission, maxims, and business objectives. Employee-led resource groups offer opportunities to network, grow as a leader, contribute ideas and solutions to Nordic’s overall DEI efforts, support community efforts, and participate in skill building, mentoring, and career development.
Whether it’s our BELIEVE ERG empowering black professionals, our Women In Support of Equity/Excellence (WISE) ERG encouraging and elevating women, the Leading Our Vision of Equality (LOVE) ERG supporting LGBTQIA2+ employees, or the Veterans Engagement Team and Support (VETS) ERG uniting military service veterans, everyone belongs at Nordic.
